I purchased the T42p on 03.13.06, warranty valid until 03.19.09...all good!...right....
WRONG!
SO..... I decided to by a Sleeve from lenovo for the T42, ordered, paid, shipped NP! I was going to purchase the 3yr NBD and TPP; I knew I had 30 days, so no rush.
A member wanted the same sleeve (out of the USA, so he could not order), since I had to purchase the NBD and TPP I added the case there as well. Lenovo said two weeks to ship, OK, NP! This was on 03.21.06. In the past the TPP is just a "user-agreement" that they send and contains the warranty information. On 04.03.06 my CC was charged and the items shipped, checked the web, everything looked good. A week goes by, nothing; called sales...SORRY, we have not shipped the items yet, they will ship within 48HRS, that is why the site has not added the Tracking-Number, that was 04.10.06, I called back on the 12th...SORRY, we billed you, items were "ordered" by they never shipped....WTF!!!
So they promised everything would be resolved and that the case would not ship for ANOTHER two weeks, I asked about the TPP and the NBD warranty...."the site should update within the next few days and reflect it accordingly". So on 04/17 I called Lenovo AGAIN and they promised that the warranty would reflect on the website, according to them within the next few days....last night I checked on the website......THEY "VOIDED" MY WARRANTY
Not only can't they ship a $20 case, they also managed to screw everything else up.....I called Lenovo last night, "entitlement" closes at 12AM EST. I called them again this morning, "entitlement" tells me that they are open 24HRS just like the call center....Guess trainning is going well at lenovo!!!!
So entitlement promised to have everything "sorted" by tonight when it comes to the warranty, it will be back to 03/19/2009 and will reflect NBD on-site as well as TPP! I gave them all the information requested and they were puzzled as how it got messed up, in "another" "internal" system, my machine shows 3YR Depot with an expiration of 03/19/2006 but they can not use that to "verify" warranty...soooo..what is it there for?
Anyways, I think Lenovo is heading DOWN....FAST...First the nightmare with the T40, and now this!!!If they can't ship a simple case and add a warranty, I do not want to know what happens if your order is more "complex". Two black eyes in the same year, IBM did not manage two black eyes in the 10+ years I had been dealing with them...........I guess time will tell.......

I got a call from IBM/Lenovo that they were not sure of my problem with my case number (I was assigned two case numbers, one last night and one this morning when I talked to entitlement; they issued the second one since the first one was no good for getting the warranty sorted out) So what I think happened is the first case number is still "OPEN" since there is no "hardware failure" in the ticket they wanted to know that what the problem was, since I have "NBD" coverage they could get a tech dispatched as soon as I called; they said nothing of the TPP! The website still has the old information that it had last night, no update to it yet!! I'll check it tomorrow morning and go from there....I will keep you all updated on what happens.
