LCD brightness problem, can it be fixed ?

#1 Post by duwde » Wed Apr 19, 2006 3:52 pm

I've bought a new t43 (14") and there is a small brightness problem on the LCD that bothers me... Take a look in the pictures at:

I can't use the warranty as I'm no longer in the USA and the IBM warranty doesn't work here (Brazil).

Is there anything I can do to fix it ? Have you guys seen this before ?

Thanks

I've seen that on certain LCDs for desktops, but never on a Laptop. I would have to go with a defect in the LCD itself because of the offset of the brightness. I know some NEC LCDs have that problem too. My opinion is you need to return it to get a new one, or have them send you a new LCD and you can change it yourself if you don't want to go through the trouble of sending back the laptop.

Just to be sure, wait for someone more experienced to reply to the post...
