LCD Brightness problem, can it be fixed ?

#1 Post by duwde » Wed Apr 19, 2006 5:13 pm

I've bought a new t43 (14") and there is a small brightness problem on the LCD that bothers me... Take a look in the pictures at:

I can't use the warranty as I'm no longer in the USA and the IBM warranty doesn't work here (Brazil).

Is there anything I can do to fix it ? Have you guys seen this before ?

Thanks

You can find all sorts of discussions regarding this, do a search for "white spots", "pressure points" or "pressure spots".

I believe someone was able to fix it by opening up the LCD, but most were fixed by replacing the LCD under warranty.

I just had the LCD on an R51 replaced due to bright spots on the lower left and lower right of the LCD, under warranty. The replacement LCD is perfect, no bad pixels.
