760ED Hard drive
760ED Hard drive
I'd like to replace a hard drive in my 760ED. Right now I have a 2.15GB HD in there and I'd like to replace it with maybe a 10GB one. Now, I took the keyboard off and examined the HD and it seems to be in some sort of sealed caddy. Is there anyway I can open this "caddy" to throw in a diff hard drive? What should I do?

If you peel up the label around the connectors and pull up the tabs on the sides of the caddy, you should be able to unscrew it and replace the hard drive.
The maximum BIOS supported drive is 6gb. However, you can always use a drive overlay utility to overcome that.

It's a type of software that you can download and install onto the drive.
Here's an example of an overlay utility in use: http://thinkpads.com/6gig-limit.htm
