Differences?
Throughout my search for a new Lenovo T60 Thinkpad, I have come upon 2 different websites that have what I'm looking for. There is something confusing though. There are 2 notebooks that seem very similar, but the one that seems better is less expensive. Here are the 2 websites, both comparing the same 2 models. I don't see that much of a difference. If you could give me some information or even just point me out to what I'm missing, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Have a look at the PSRef:
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pcinstitu ... tabook.pdf
To check the exact differences. Sometimes the info on websites (including Lenovo's own site) can be incorrect.
That said, $100 is a bargain for the extras you are getting.

I apologize for the link to costcentral. This website has the same exact models, except the one that is more expensive of the two, on CDW, is now less expensive on this website. Explanation?

It seems to good to be true.

Agreed, that is a very good price for the D6U (RRP is $1599). Could be something to do with them having 149 in stock!Mantra1318 wrote:How can Cost Central give such a a good deal on the following model: http://www.costcentral.com/proddetail/L ... 6U/J49840/

This deal does seem way to good to be true. Is it a risk? I mean, it just doesn't add up. I'm just wondering whether it is a safe buy. Should I get it while I can?astro wrote:Agreed, that is a very good price for the D6U (RRP is $1599). I don't see why it wouldn't be "safe", it is the advertised price. Remember the 2623### models are cheaper than the 2007### models.
Just check that it is for a new machine and that it is covered by Lenovo warranty. Phone/email them to confirm the price if you think they've made a mistake.

I received one today from CostCentral. I checked the warranty on the web site and it is for three years.
I can see why some folks will pay more for the Flexview screen, the viewing angle on this screen is not the greatest. But I am happy with the overall system thus far (having had it for all of 5 hours).

Glad to hear that you got your ThinkPad today. As far as the display goes, I think that the more you use your new ThinkPad the less you will notice the viewing angle. While not as stunning as the Flexview, I have used the 14" ThinkPads for years and the reliability, build quality, great keyboard, solid performance of the computer will all be the things you notice day to day.macaddicted wrote:I received one today from CostCentral.
