Presentation Director - LCD screen and projector

#1 Post by movado » Mon Apr 24, 2006 11:09 am

I am using a new IBM C-400 projector with 1024 x 768 native resolution. My laptop LCD screen is a 15" UXGA.

When I set the "Presentation on Projector and Thinkpad (VGA 1024 x 768) native resolution for the projector, my laptop LCD screen reduces the image to 75% with black borders.

Anyone else have this problem? If so, am I missing a setting?

Its not a problem. UXGA is 1600x1200 resolution, since the projector can only do 1024x768 it changes the local resolution if you keep on your lcd screen. Since 1024x768 requires lots of black space on your lcd thats what you see. Once you change back to only LCD it will revert back to 1600x1200 but sometimes it messes up the icons if you have then in a particular place..

I use Presentation Director at work on my T42p. One of the "features" of Presentation Director is that it is supposed to preserve the previous desktop arrangement, including the desktop photo and icons. I'd say it works 75% of the time. But when it messes up, it really messes up, royally. Sometimes it works, but it'll drop my desktop photo, and more often than not, it loses my desktop icons. At one time I drew a dashed line for the "safe area" but I've outgrown it and it often loses whatever is outside the smaller resolution area. Annoying it is...

Cheers,
Tony
