Lotus SmartSuite

#1 Post by BudC » Mon Apr 24, 2006 2:08 pm

In the past, IBM always bundled Lotus SmartSuite with their desktops. I was under the impression that I'd get it with my new T-60. Is this something that stopped when Lenovo took over?

I was hoping to get a later version of Lotus Organizer.

I thought I would get it also as I saw it in tabook when I bought my machine. I'm not sure if we're supposed to download it or what. Can anyone shed some light on this?

If you go back and look at tabook, it says License - CD not included. Somewhere in all the paperwork is either a form to send in to get the CD or a phone number to call.

How to Get Lotus Software?

#4 Post by BudC » Sat Apr 29, 2006 1:21 pm

I sent a note to my salesman to see if he knows how to obtain it.

I'll let you know if I find out anything.

You're right and it does say that. I don't recall any paperwork to send in for it though. I will have to look through the paperwork again. I honestly didn't go through it too thoroughly when I received it.

It may just be a piece of paper with a phone number and instructions to call to get it sent to you.

I've been doing a little more research and found that a Lotus flyer was shipped with T-42's but it appears that it wasn't shipped with T-60's. I wonder if Lenovo have dropped the offer since they bought out the business from IBM.

Well, it's still listed in the current tabook models. Call support, and ask about it.

I sent a note to my salesman but I suppose I should have called support. I will, if I don't hear from the salesman.

#10 Post by BudC » Mon May 01, 2006 12:31 pm

Call 1-800-390-3899 to get free CD's containing SmartSuit and Lotus Notes.

Have your T-Pad serial number handy.

I don't know, call the number and ask them.

When I called, I told them I had a new T-60 and they asked for the serial number.

Probably depends on whether one has been requested for that serial number or not.

Ok, I tried this number and it mentioned something about directory assistance. I guess I have to call regular support then....

Yes, call regular support and tell them you didn't get the flyer with your Thinkpad about free Lotus software and you would like to obtain it. They should give you the same number I posted.

When I called, the person at Lotus who answered apparently handled these requests.
