Adding Fingerprint reader to T43?

I'm looking at getting a T43 that's on eBay but it doesn't have a Fingerprint Reader, and I was wondering how hard it would be to replace the palmrest and install a new one with the reader built in. I would think the hardest thing to do would be actually finding the part. Would the BIOS recognize the reader, or would I need to upgrade the BIOS as well? I'm sure the Windows drivers are on the IBM/Lenovo website too.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

You would need the palmrest with the reader included as well as a motherboard that supports it, The boards that come in FP models have an extra connector for it that the models without the FP do not.

I thought that the reader connects to the boad that's for the UltraNav which then connects to the motherboard...

Hrm. This might change my plans then...

There is no extra connector on the motherboard side !! , the FP connects into the Touchpad and the all the connections run together towards the motherboard. It is only one connector and the the same size one, which fits...

T43's dont have 2 different MB's all of them support FP. The HMM does not have 2 different FRU's as it did for T42, where some had support and others didnot..
