Is this a good price on a new T43?

For $1300 I can get a T43 model 26684DU new in box (not refurb) with 3 yr warranty. I was wondering if this is a regular price, a good price, or a great price? Or none of the above.

Is it me, or when you click on the "See larger image" does it look like there's a little T42 and not a T43 in the bottom right?...

Still, heckuva deal - if my T43 was not 6 months young, I'd snap one up.

I got that price through student discounts spec'd exactly the same (well, I got 768 MB RAM through their current promotion). Great deal...mine's chuggin' along great after being on 24/7 since January.

why not spend a little more nad pick up a T60 2623-D6U from www.costcentral.com for like $1450? I'm guessing its $1300 at your school, but you are still going to pay tax, bringing it closer to $1400. With the T60, you get everything the same or better (dvd dual layer burner and 80gb HD)

Well, I don't think it's one of the best deals outta there. It's a pretty good deal if you get it brand new and maybe directly from IBM.

I got my T43 2687-D8U last year for around $1400 with three-year warranty. Now since the Core Dual is coming, T60/p, the price of T43 has gone down and getting cheap. So I think for $1300, at least you can get a bigger HD T43 with fingerprint reader. I think you should shop around for a better deal on a T43 or even a T60. By the way, the best deal I have seen for a Thinkpad, is a T43p for about $1700 during the Chirstmas boxing day sale but I saw it too late and out of stock.
