Ultrabay 2000 Adapter for DVD-ROM to USB?

#1 Post by NecessaryEvil » Sat Jul 31, 2004 7:40 pm

I thought I'd seen something about an external ultrabay 2000 to plug it into a USB port.

Anyone know where I can find this? I have a DVD I can't use in my T41 & T42, and would like to put it to use in the future.

The thinkpad dock II has an ultrabay 2000 bay. Its for the T4x series.

The device you're speaking of is the Portable Drive Bay 2000, I've never actually seen one, but it turns any Ultrabay 2000 device into a PCMCIA or USB external one.

Yep. That's it. While Portable Drive Bay 2000 has both USB and PCMCIA connectivity, the older Portable Drive Bay has only PCMCIA. You can still find them on Ebay. I've bought one not long ago for my TransNote.
