x31: wireless connection constantly drops HELP?

#1 Post by Blake » Sat Apr 29, 2006 11:20 am

just as the title states. Im running the Intel 2100 3b card, with xp pro. driver version 1.2.4.35

it will be working fine, and then it drops the connection. I try to repair or reconnect and it just fails. It requires a restart of my system and sometimes my router.

Ive had this problem with my previous buffalo router, and now it continues with my netgear.

im also useing wpa-psk security..

any suggestions?

Are you using Access Connections or XP to connect?

Is the card turning off or just dropping the connection?

I had a similar problem on both my x31 and my wife's x40 - the wifi connection just drops after a period. I solved it on mine by having Access Connections configured to manage the wireless configuration, and solved it on my wife's laptop by uninstalling Access Connections entirely. So the problem is quite likely Access Connections and XP fighting over which is managing the wireless connection.
