Urgent what's wrong? Power surge on Hub Port

Hey i Just plugged in my T43 into a surge protector got a warning then tried an extension cord ( I am in a dorm). I am getting the warning

A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port. I restarted computer. THen i reset as it asked m too. and now I don't know what. is something wrong with my adapter?

It is still charges, however am i damagin my computer or other devices on the surge
