Intel 2200B/G Wireless problem... (T43)

#1 Post by pmcguire » Wed May 03, 2006 1:27 pm

Hi,

This might be beaten to death, I can just find similiar problems concerning a certain router. Anyway the problem is that I can connect to the AP and I have 80-100% signal strength. But if I am running on batteries I get a few packets, usually enough to load a webpage, then I just get nothing. Connection stays up and solid but all the webpages and everything else just time out.

I have ordered the Atheros card to try and put this issue to bed.

Just hardware/software info for you.

T43 (2699 W5B)
Access Connections 4.12
2200B/G version 9.0.4.8

Zyxel 660HW - Router.

did you check the power saving settings of the card? if you put it to high than the power dedicated for wireless card will be less than normal resulting in dial up kinda speed!

Hi,

Thanks for the idea, unfortunatley I have messed around with those power settings and I can't solve this problem.
I had hoped that the Atheros card would solve the problem but I get the 1802 Illegal WLAN card installed error.

The boot cd didn't solve that for me either

Not a good day at the office over here i'm afraid.

FYI Atheros card was this one....

Maybe you have to set the Wireless connection mode(Standard, Conpatible or advanced infrustructure)right. On most case it have to be setted in advanced infrustructure mode.
