Questions about T60 and Ultrabay

I ordered my 2623D6U on Monday from Costcentral and it will be arriving on Friday (very excited it is coming so quick). I have a few quick questions that I would like to get answers to before I start buying more accessories or sending things back.

Along with my T60, I ordered an Ultrabay battery as well. However, I was under what may be a false impression that there was an empty ultrabay available for this batttery. Further review of pictures and video on Lenovo's site has revealed to me that the CD/DVD drive occupies that ultrabay. Is this indeed the truth? I would prefer not to have to remove my DVD drive everytime I wanted to use this battery. How do others handle this situation? Do they run sans DVD drive? If the battery does indeed need to be swapped out with the DVD combo drive I think I would prefer to just send it back and order a 9 cell.

I've also ordered an Ogio Metroid bag and 1gb of Crucial memory. Is there any more must have items that I should think about getting?

There is only 1 Ultrabay so you will need to swap back and forth as needed.
