I have an X60. Supervisor password, power on password , hdd password enabled.
I have fingerprint authentication enabled.
When I restarted my X60 after an USB device removal the bootup screen says: Bad Cmos checksum, defaults loaded.
Since then I cannot use my old supervisor password. I havent forgot the password! I can use my laptop with my fingerprint, but I cannot change the SVP. I can enter to the bios, can change everything, but the SVP.
Is there any solution for this problem?
Supervisor password problem
Is it under warranty?
Is there a system log to check the reason? (Bad Cmos Checksum).
Is there a limited count of retry for SVP?
I love this machine, I hope I can find a SVP.
I read the description of the fingerprint software. It reads out the SVP from the fingerprint device and compare the SVP set by the user (stored by the security chip).
How can I login with the stored password in fingerprint sotware if the SVP changed when I got the Bad cmos checksum?
?????????????
Is it possible that a newer bios will solve the problem?
(I'm sure I havent forgot the password)(because I wrote it down in my phone).
