Battery life?

#1 Post by jmargaglione » Mon Aug 02, 2004 1:23 am

Has anybody noticed a difference between the battery life under WinXP and Linux? I'm going to be installing Mandrake 10 on a T42, and I want to know what kind of battery life I can expect. I'll be using the 9 cell battery with the 1600x1200 1.8GHz proc. I'm assuming that cpufreqd works ok, but are there any utilities to change the screen brightness, turn off the optical drives, etc?

Thanks,

John

Might want to check out the following site for battery lifetimes. Granted, it
compares the T41 but you get some insight.
