in the past I had problems updating to a new BIOS version with several Thinkpads using the non-disk update program.
There are a lot of users out there having the same problems.....most often the non-disk update doesn't work...no update after reboot...just starting the OS again.
So I did my updates using the USB floppy drive of a friend...or prepared a bootable CD-ROM with an floppy image on it (using NERO Burning ROM).
Now I heard of a little tool BootDiskToBootStick which is able to copy a bootable floppy disk to an usb-stick which is then also bootable... *NICE*
You can download the little tool here

It's just an exe-file, no installation required...
Reuired is the Micro$oft NET 2.0 framework.
Beware, your USB Stick will be formated...all data will be deleted.
With that i hope we will be able to upgrade BIOS in a more comfortable way....when the non-disk version sucks again!
I didn't try the process yet, cause my BIOS is up to date but I certainly will with the next update! I think it is worth a try...
So, hopefully you have a Desktop PC with a floppy drive....
Have fun!
