Password manager - how to populate username AND password?

#1 Post by zhenya » Sat May 06, 2006 6:32 pm

Most of the websites I'd like to use the password manager for I only seem to be able to get the username OR the password populated. When I make a new entry and drag the crosshairs to the appropriate text box, most web pages choose the entire page - not the individual text entry box - hence I can only get one or the other. Are other people having this problem? Is there a workaround? Thanks!

I had a problem with this, and resolved it in thus:
  1. On the Web page, click the cursor in the username text field.
  2. Launch CSS to create a new profile, type in the username, and drag the crosshair to the username field on the web page.
  3. Now, on the web page, click in the password field.
  4. Back to CSS, type the password, and drag the crosshair to the password field.
  5. Click save in CSS.

Thanks. I know I've used that method in the past, but the last several websites I've tried using that method it only keeps the latter of the two. I'm not sure if it's specific to certain websites, or maybe to certain browsers?

I've heard people complain about browsers .... As for websites, it might be dependent on whether they label the fields correctly.
