Harddrive ticking
Harddrive ticking
Hi
My boss's T60p has a harddrive that periodically ticks, he gets really annoyed about it. Is it a defective drive or can I do some settings to make it go away?

Run a disk checker utility on it as well as the SMART utility and/or PC Doctor, see if they pick anything up. If they do, then give IBM/Lenovo a quick call and they should send out another HDD.

If so, you can use the Hitachi Drive Tool to tweak it; although, I have never had any problems with all my Hitachi HDDs.Ponch wrote:Or way mor simple: It is a Hitachi, right?
