Tweaker Question: T23 motherboard in T22?

:idea:

.. just curious since both models have the type-number 2648.. can I exchange a T22 motherboard with the one from a T23? anyone here heared of a succesful modification?

No, a T23 board will not fit in a T22 base. Only the T20-22 are interchangeable.

IBM TP T41p (1.7G/1GB/100GB-7k100/DVD-CDRW/SXGA+/BT)

IBM TP A31 (1.8GHz/512MB/40GB/DVD-CDRW/15" SXGA)

The chipset of T20-22 series is different with T23's

The T23 has completely different bottom plastics. People have added a T23 MB with case bottom to the rest of the pieces from the T20-22 and gotten a working T23 that way. But given the aggravation of that, it'd only be worthwhile if you got is REALLY cheap.

The 23 keyboard bezel is also different from the T22, so if you change the bottom tray, you'll have to change that too.
