I have a Thinkpad T40 for sell without WLAN. Now a friend wants to buy it but he wants WLAN. I have WLAN in mine so I was wondering if I can just take my wlan-card out an put it in the other t40. Is that so easy ?
Have all T4xs the wlan-needed-antennas installed ?
thanks,
meditate

EDIT: oops, sorry about that. I see the question was about the WLAN card (thanks G-Man), and not the BT CDC modem. I guess I had BT on the brain. You'd think the subject of the thread would've given me a clue.
I'll leave my old post in here anyway.
If your T40 has the BT antenna in the LCD assembly, then you should be able to swap out the CDC modem cards.
This thread has a list of all the models that have the BT antenna already in the LCD assembly:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?p=9561#9561
The T40 and T41's use the same CDC modem / Bluetooth card (the T42 CDC has a different FRU).
All this info is in the FRU parts list at ibm.com (though you need to click on the LCD assembly to see the antenna):

Humpa,
Meditate is talking about the wireless lan not about the Bluetooth. The wifi card is on a different card, located under the palmrest/touchpad. The wifi antenna should be there. Just install the Mini PCI card then the driver, and you are ready to go.
Removal and installiation movies:
