1Gb Memory for T23

I know that I have to use 2 512Mb Modules to get to 1Gb on my T23, but want to know if this type is pretty generic. I've seen quite a bit of it on sale branded IBM that is 16 chip modules, but I've also come across some 8 chip modules by Samsung that I'm not sure of. Any T23/A30 memory experts out there that can give me a good explaination?
Family Daily Drivers- T430s, T530, X220
Work- Sadly, the ThinkPads have gone away...... and replaced by HP ProDesk SFF drone machines :(

The T23 and A30 are probably the least finicky Thinkpads when it comes to memory.

I've always used whatever PC133 memory that was on sale and have never had any problems.

I have two 8-chip 512MB sticks in my T23 with no issues at all :)
Thinkpad T60 2613-CTO (2\4m\667, 3GB, 200GB 7200, DVD-RW DL, SXGA+, 3945ABG, 128MB x1400, GBe, BT IV)
Thinkpad T40 2373-PU7 (1.7\2m\400, 2GB, 120GB 5400, DVD\CDRW, SXGA+, Intel 2915ABG, 32MB MR7500, GBe, BT II)
Thinkpad T23 2648-PS1 (1.2, 512mb, 2915ABG)
