So now who?

#1 Post by markgreene » Thu May 11, 2006 7:39 am

I have lost all faith in Lenovo shipping my order on the date they said, June 1.

It is VERY important that I have the laptop by June 15th. So the question now is, who do I buy from?

So now I an authorized reseller to buy from. On the site, http://www.euclidcomputers.com , they say that the 2623D7U ships within one business day. Does anyone know if there is TRUTH to that claim?

Does anyone know of another supplier that has the T60 2623D7U in stock?

Also, if I buy my T60 from another retailer, can I call Lenovo within a certain time frame and buy the protection plan?

Check www.costcentral.com . I bought mine from there. Their prices are very good, and they have a large stock to choose from.

You can also check www.pricegrabber.com . Just search on the model number you posted on this thread to find suppliers, prices, and inventory.

I have purchased 4 Thinkpads from Eulid Computers
They are fast & reliable, if the site says they have it - they do and will ship it immediately.

I use them for the same reason...Lenovo cannot get it to me.

Forgot to mention in my earlier post that you cannot (in my experience) trust cost central or the others to have it in stock.
They say they do on the web site, I placed my order only to find out 1 day later that they were out of stock and could not ship for 2-3 weeks.

Euclid is totally reliable (I do not work for them) just a very happy customer. They also have very good customer service & good tracking system.

One time I ordered in the evening & recieved the computer the next morning!

I had no problem with Cost Central. At any rate, if delivery time is important, be sure and talk to someone to verify stock. In this case, it is probably better to order over the phone.

I did speak to someone on the phone & placed the order, that was the frustrating part of my experience with CostCentral. Good to hear it worked for you.

Well... I had to register so that I could answer your question.

Hands down, try out euclidcomputers. I ordered a 2623D7U on Tuesday and had it Wednesday (of course I paid a little extra for overnight). I had lots of questions regarding extending the warranty, etc. and they answered all of them lickity split via a few e-mails and one phone call (due to a credit card question).

One thing that bugged me was they wouldn't match the sale price lenovo is running right now, they came within a hundred dollars of it though. Figure that the tax difference more than made up for it. I guess I also lose the 30 day return policy you would get with a direct order also? But.... next day rather than 6+ weeks!

Hey Mark. So I know you ordered your D7U a few days before mine and all, but I found out just a little while ago that mine shipped out today. Maybe yours will ship out today or tomorrow ? Did you buy the base model for it? That's what I did, so maybe that could have speeded up the process?

Either way, I hope you're able to get your comp in time.

Mark, this said, why don't you just call Euclid and ask them if they have it in their warehouse? That is just about the closest guarantee you will get of availability.

My current experience with Euclid (current, because I still have not received my machine) has been good. They have answered my questions promptly (within 24hrs) over email. I did have to ask them why my 2007-63U did not ship as advertised, though (their site said 7-10 business days) -- of course, this is because Lenovo themselves have been slipping the ship dates on many machines which come with 1GB RAM (that's the rumour, anyway). When asked, they revised my ship date to 17 business days and I prodded them to notify me as soon as it slipped again. So once 17 days came, they notified me by email again to say that Lenovo slipped it to 20 days.

I am still happy to do business with them, because I think their hands are tied on this one. They have been nothing but curteous and prompt in responding to my email harassment. :)

Yes, I only order ThinkPads from Euclid that say same or next day shipping. Those are the ones they have in stock. Since they have an ongoing order with Lenovo, they say 7-10 days if that's what Lenovo tells them. Longer waits are dependent on Lenovo's production.
What I have found is many times when no one else has the ThinkPad I'm looking for Euclid usually does.

I canceled my order with Lenovo and ordered the LAST 2623D7U from Euclid!

They are adding the extra memory I purchased and shipping it tommorow!!!!!

The best part, I saved money because Euclid did not charge sales tax and the RAM was half the price!

Thanks guys. I really enjoyed dealing with them. I well organized and knowledgable company.

Hi guys,

I just ordered the UltraLight TFT X60s (170-294U) on 11/05/2006 from Euclid also.

So far, they've been very prompt to answering all my questions. I paid by credit card and they called me next day to confirm.

My estimate date is 26/05/2006 as the unit ships from 7 to 10 days. The reason I bought from them was they had high rating and they were the only one that can ship to Canada with the exact Ultralite TFT I wanted.

I hope I'll receive my unit soon!
