Thought i could change language...
im quite sure i read that changing language on the T60P from germany to english could be done in a heartbeat.. its been many heartbeats and everytime i choose another language and reboot the [censored] notebook still going "WILLKOMMEN!!"

Yep. You'll need to buy the language version of XP that you want to use. You can change the keyboard in XP to a different language layout, and you can change the code page so that typing produces the correct fonts. However to change the screen fonts you need a different language version of XP. I could be wrong, but I think you might need the full retail version rather than the upgrade version.

thats nothing less than a disaster. As is the LCD.
to others choosing a 14,1 over a 15 inch. we are deffently paying a high price here. the 14,1 is NOT as good/bad as other non-flexview LCD's and it should never be used on the worlds most expensive notebook.
no matter from what angle this LCD is looked upon, it isent very good, always some part with too much light or miss-colored or something. next to my parrents amilo or my old asus, this looks like the cheaper one. other than that the build/keyboard is probably the best.

Re: Thought i could change language...
You can call to IBM support and order the rescue CD's. Just say that the notebook's preloaded XP was English and they should send you English XP. At least in Finland this succeeded just fine and it was completely free.

its cool, i have a clean install of xp now. also the reseller said he would ship english recovery and device dvd's for free.
i was angry at the OS language thing which clouded my overall view yesterday. this notebook really is amazing. im very impressed by the quality of this build.
how does notebook hardware control (NHC) mix with core due processors?
i used this program on my old notebook to lower the voltage and clock of the cpu when not used much, its a nice utility.
