Linux on T22?

Hello, bought a T22 off the bay for Xmas, and was supposed to get a licensed XP machine. Didn't. (not the only thing wrong with the transaction)

Was wondering about going Linux instead of XP ($143 offer from MS after validation failed).

Is there a legitimate Linux replacement for a nonprogrammer enduser? SUSE? Kubuntu? Beuler?

I'd like to keep wireless (PCMCIA) capability if I can.

Got a new 60gig 7200 HD coming so now's the time to try.

Well, if you want to go with a simple, quick, and easy setup...either Ubuntu or Kubuntu would work; SuSE would as well, might have to tweak at the end a tad though.

I do know that Wireless should work "out of the box," so to speak, with Ubuntu.

I just installed Ubuntu Dapper Drake (beta) on my Thinkpad T21. I had a little video glitch that I fixed with adding some lines of text to the config file, but other than that everything works. The released version of Ubuntu Dapper Drake is coming out on June 1st.

Xandros is a Linux distro aimed towards new windows converts. The free version is available Here.
Version 4 is expected to be released soon.
The full version is not free but like the old saying goes: "You get what you pay for."

I recommend Ubuntu or even Kubuntu.

They are excellent distros for newcomers to linux and you dont have to be a programmer/linux guru to get them setup.

On my T23 i was using: Slackware, Red Hat AS, Fedora 4, Ubuntu, Fedora 5..
Currently i`m using Knoppix

I'll probably go with ubuntu breezy badger 5.10 and try it this weekend on the new HD. If it doesn't work, I can always go back to the old one.
