I give up after 30 minutes of searching

#1 Post by Jeremy Tan » Sat May 13, 2006 1:48 am

I am sorry if i reposted this topic again. After 30 minutes of searching, i give up.

I am using thinkpad r52 1858 5ua. This belonged to the SPF (Singapore Police Force). I secretly installed Unixware into the notebook and it was running well the other night, but this morning it stopped running. I am trying to look for the Unixware version number but i cannot find it. May i know how to look for the version number. 2nd question: What should i do to uninstall Unixware from the computer. I tried uninstalling the program by running uninstallation but to no success. Browser window popped out and tell me system cannot uninstall software as it is currently in use.

PS: I closed all the browser windows before uninstalling.

there is a utility available that will unlock windows lock and enable you to remove an application that is locked by windows..
it is called "unlocker"..

EDIT: sorry, my error.. this utility only allows the removal of folders (directories) that windows has locked, and NOT application..
sorry..

I tried uninstalling and it keeps on asking me for version number. I don't know where to find the version number. The part regarding the uninstallation is very messy. System keeps on asking me to log in and out of the computer and make me look like a fool.

Bill, may i know how to get the version number? Thanks.

I got my unixware version number finally... ahh..

Actually i am sort of stupid. The version number is right at the bottom and i never notice and i come here and ask for help.

I do a full system uninstallation of Unixware today. Everything is running smoothly. Redo another fresh install of windows XP Pro. Follow Bill's advice and everything is done. Thanks Bill.
