dvd player for my T23

I have a T23 (2647-8RU) and it plays DVDs fine with the DVD Express player that came with it, but when I try to play them with Windows Media Player, the video is all elongated from the bottom half down.

My video is 1024x768 LCD panel on S3 Graphics SuperSavage/IXC.

Any ideas why Windows Media Player can't play the DVD video properly ?
