ATI Video Package

#1 Post by Scratch » Sun May 14, 2006 2:06 pm

Please pardon me for being a bit obtuse on this topic, but I'm stumped with this Video Package thing

Why is System Updater trying to replace

Version 8.204-051220a1-031127C-Lenovo

with

Version 8.204-051220a1-029804C-Lenovo?

Is anyone running Version 8.204-051220a1-029804C-Lenovo having the "Display Sleep/Coma" issue where power savings turns it off only to have it never return without a "Fn + F4" or Forced Power Down/Reboot?

Perhaps I should revert? I only took the update when proffered by Software Installer to see if it would fix the issue (obviously not a success).

video driver issue

#3 Post by johnp126 » Sun May 14, 2006 9:16 pm

mess up on lenovo's part. they left a newer driver on disk image but on some machines did not install it, software installer (which is to be replaced) also scans hard disk, but the new software, thinkvantage system update only looks at the web. it must not have any checking of versions or it can't tell lower from higher. anyway there is a new one waiting to be posted.
