Thinkvantage access connections question

Currently windows manages my wireless connections. I thought I would try the access connections through thinkvantage. Well, I click the icon, open tools and try to click on the find wireless networks, but it's grayed out. I tried to disable the windows control, downloaded new drivers and nothing changes. I must be missing something. Any ideas??
