T42 Battery Problems

#1 Post by carnagedobalina » Mon May 15, 2006 11:34 am

Hi everyone,

I have a t42 2373-M3U.

I took my laptop upstairs and plugged it into the power outlet because i knew it was out of battery last night. This morning i woke up and turned it on, and i saw that the battery was only at 2%. I tried restarting, reinstalling the batter, and it seems as if the battery wont recharge anymore. The batter light is still blinking, and it's been like this for about 20 minutes already with no progress in charging. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

CarnageDobalina

Greetings,

Edit: Sorry never see your thinkpad model. Still got warranty? Sometimes, you need to do a drainage first before recharging the battery.

i still might have warranty? i got it less than a year ago so i think it should be okay. the last thing i wanna do tho is go through the hassle and send it back to IBM. any other ideas?

the battery is pretty much drained, because when i unplug it, the laptop just shuts down completely and won't turn on unless i plug it back in.

i dunno what else to do... please help!

A call to support is in order. They may just send you a new battery ... or arrange a power supply check/fix through a local place. Depends on where you are (you don't have your location filled in, neener neener).
