T23 and eCS 1.1 and a cable modem?

#1 Post by BigWarpGuy » Tue May 16, 2006 12:42 pm

I have a cable modem. I have my eCS 1.1 desktop connected to it via a network card and hub. It works. I can check my e-mail and browse the internet. I try connecting my T23 to the hub via the network port. It can get the TCP/IP settings/DHCP but no access to the internet. Is this a problem with my T23, eCS 1.1, the hub or the cable modem? :?:

I have my T23 connected to a Lynksys BEFSR41 router connected to an ADSL modem. Running eCS1.2 and using Mozilla for e-mail and browsing. No problems. I doubt it's the hub or modem since they work on the desktop. I have never used eCS 1.x (went from Warp4 to eCS 1.2.

Here's an idea: Download the eCS 1.2 demo from serenity and burn it to a CD. My T23 can talk to the internet via my router. If that works, that would eliminate the T23 as the culprit.

Will give it a try

It worked until I went to Warpstock Hershey and a fellow eCS user changed somthing on the T23. I tried to unchange it but it still won't browse the internet even though it gets the DHCP settings.

I want to wait till 2.0 comes out and I will upgrade (I like to buy the full version and install over the previous verson; even if it means refomatting the hard drive [at least the partion c: that has eCS on it]).

Upgrade to 1.2

I will upgrade to 1.2 until 2.0 comes out (which might be awhile). I will get the full version so I won't have to re-install 1.1 if my computer crashes or dies. :)
