Official 1.25 BIOS is gone, AGAIN!

#1 Post by CoolDragon » Wed May 17, 2006 11:27 am

This is really funny, the 1.25 BIOS has been sitting there for several months, but gone AGAIN!

If it works fine, then what is the problem?

I have seen EC updates, particularly the 1.05 EC update, appear and then disappear on the Software Installer; it isn't just IBM/Lenovo either, since, when I had an HP ze5170, I checked the driver matrix for it and it would change...sometimes rolling back versions, yet there would very rarely be problems with something like a BIOS update. The few there were for the HP ze5170, that is.

That seems to best idea; I certainly can't think of another reason.

Only one problem, why would they do that when you could upgrade from 1.25 to that latest BIOS they put out? Perhaps to save the user from having to do two, close revision, BIOS upgrades?

1.25 (and 1.26) BIOS had issues when using external keyboards/port replicator. Random "sticky key" effects. Could be related to the NumLock sychronization feature they added to keep the Thinkpad numlock state independent of the external keyboard state.
Users who frequently switch from docked with external keyboard to undocked with TP keyboard know the pains...

I have had this keyboard problem.

The funny thing is that 1.25 was on their web last year.

After one or two days last year, it got deleted.

After several months, 1.25 was on again.

But after another several months, 1.25 was gone again!

Seems like their internal release control is really ..................

Can some of you guys upload the BIOS 1.25 & EC 1.05 somewhere? Since these are gone again and I haven't had them installed yet, now I wanna update them to see this hypermemory stuff.

Thanks in advance.
