Shipping delay???
Shipping delay???
I just placed orders yesterday for a 2378FVU and a 2379DXU.
I just checked my order status online, and for the 2379DXU I get the following message:
Status: Your order is scheduled to ship by 10/21/2004 !!!!!!!!!!
This is 8/03/2004 today.
10/21/2004 is CLOSE TO 90 DAYS FROM NOW!!!!
Are they serious?????

Those shipping estimates are lies. Call IBM for clarification, but even what they tell you will likely be inaccurate. I ordered mine, it gave a ship date 70 days in the future, IBM reps said it would be closer to three weeks, and it turned out to be three days.
In any event, just keep an eye on it for now.

Don't know that I would use such a harsh word as lies.primedude wrote:Those shipping estimates are lies. Call IBM for clarification, but even what they tell you will likely be inaccurate. But they are probably rough estimates and usually they ship sooner.
Well, a system that is "scheduled to ship" at the end of October, when it is now the beginning of August is "an issue" to me.
If the end of October is "a rough estimate", then, any way you slice it, it is not going to work for me.
Is there any way to get closer to the reality of the true estimated ship date??
What if there was a problem with this model, and it is going to be "offline" for awhile??? Is there anyone at IBM that could tell me something more truthful??
