Does anyone have recovery disks for an A31?

#1 Post by jphelps » Thu May 18, 2006 8:04 pm

I have now found out first hand how difficult it is to restore the OS if you were unaware of the need to create your own recovery disks from the Hidden Partition. I recently lost my hard drive on my A31. Lenovo said they would be happy to assist me with my dilemma for around $50 for the disks. I was hoping that someone may be able to assist me before I give up and go that route. My machine is a 2652-C3U.

Bill,

I was hoping someone might have a copy they would not mind sharing on an FTP server as an ISO image or perhaps swap for something they are looking for… This is in fact what had lead me to your site. I had seen a like thread Tue Mar 29, 2005 3:25 pm Post subject: Anyone have A30/A31 Recovery CDs?

I do have various A2x and A3x parts that I would be willing to trade. I can also make cds for someone’s R50 for them…

my assistant, who is in charge of those CD's is not working today..
i will need to dig through about 100 sets to see if there is one for an A31..
i know i have some for an A31p and these images tailor themselves for the particular sub model that they are being installed on.. usually..

keeping these on an FTP server full time takes too much space..

so if i DO have a set for your 2652 model (i think its two CD's for the A31p) i would need to RAR them into about 6 or 8 parts and either email or send to a commercial download site..

can't do that today, for sure..
remind me later tonight and i'll search..
