My Thinkpad

#1 Post by medevilenemy » Thu May 18, 2006 8:58 pm

I just recieved my thinkpad Z60m and i am, needless to say, very impressed. First of all, my thinkpad arrived a day earlier than expected. More importantly, from the moment i removed it from its box i was completely impressed by pretty much everything about it.

My thinkpad's keyboard is, in my opinion, better than most full-sized desktop keyboards that i have used. While some may find its audible feedback irritating or too loud, i find it very pleasing.

The TrackPoint and TrackPad are both extremely functional, and there is little else that can be said about them. They do their jobs extremely well, and that is all there is to it.

The card reader, fingerprint reader, and integrated microphone (yep, mine actually came with a microphone), not to mention the Dual-Layer DVD burner are all top-notch. In fact, the only problems i've had with any of them was enrolling my fingerprints into the security system.

Contrary to popular belief, the standard WXGA 200nit screen is very bright (at its maximum setting) and there appears to be absolutely no color or light bleeding from any part of its surface or borders.

My thinkpad came with 1GB of DDR2, a Pentium M 750 (1.86Ghz, 533Mhz FSB, 2MB L2 Cache, Intel integrated graphics). I must say that it performs at least as well as, if not better than, my Desktop PC: Athlon XP 3200+ (2.2Ghz, 400Mhz, 512MB L2 Cache), 1GB DDR, GeForce FX 5200.

<more to come when i have time to post>
-- My Tech Toys: PalmOne Tungsten T5, of course my PC (2.2ghz - 400Mhz FSB, 1GB DDR, Geforce FX 5200 -- yes, i know a i know i have a pathetic video card), and an IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad T61 (2.0 Ghz - 800Mhz FSB, 1GB DDR2) :-)

I too seem to be in the same boat as you. After using lower level dell lattitudes for so long, my new z60t seems like a dream. The quality really is a notch above the dell. I am really glad I went the ibm route. Congratz and enjoy the new laptop!

Congratulations!

I'm happy to hear that it finally arrived and that you are enjoying it. Likewise I'm very happy with mine, and I really appreciate the full size keyboard because I have large hands. The amazing part is even the 97% keyboard on my X60s is very useable.

Enjoy :D

actually, i get the feeling that the keys on my Z60m are actually bigger than those on my desktop's keyboard. how odd.
