A big favor needed

#1 Post by alexzabr » Fri May 19, 2006 11:56 am

Hey guys.
You ceratinly noticed already my thread regarding my Ebay purchase of brand new T43.
As was expected, the seller ships only within US (I was hoping to talk him into shipping by Fedex to Israel to me, at my burden of course, he doesn't agree).
I would kindly ask a good people on this list, perhaps it can be possible the seller would ship the package to you and then you would forward it by Fedex to me to Israel ? Needless to say, I'd pay all the S&H of Fedex shipment (should be around 150$).

Will be really grateful if someone on this list would pick up the glove...to help me out.
I'm still researching into any options to figure someone headnig to Israel anytiem soon to ask him to bring the laptop in person, but so far the chances of finding such person aren't big, so most certainly I'll need your kind assistance.

Thank you in advance, Alex
Israel

I haven't personally used them, but I have friends who have, and they tell me that they are a reliable organisation.

Cheers,

Bill

Would it not be possible for you to simply arrange yourself to have Fedex collect the item from the seller?

Could be possible would the seller agree to ship outside US in general, he he insts on US shipment only (and actually clarified it in his auction), so I feel it wouldn't be eligible for me to push on him.
Furthermore, arranging Fedex/UPS shipment to be ordered and paid in the country of desination is usually much more expensive then the seller would do in the country of "origin".
I called Fedex Israel inquiring how much would cost me to order Fedex delvery from US to Israel so that I would pay in Israel and Fedex courier wuold just pick it up from the seller without any payment incurred on the seller - got quoted almost twice the price of similar method of delivery would one be ordered from within the country of export (US).

Well, woudl like to thank eveyone who responded kindly offering me his assistance.
I went ahead and purchased my T43, decided not to bother you guys (and not to bother my US relatives), but ratehr use shopthestates.com service after learning their reputation through online opinions.
Today my package is expected to arrive to them for forwarding it to me.

Thank you all once again, Alex
