Gigabit Ethernet Cardbus NIC in 600x?

#1 Post by Stevenray119 » Fri May 19, 2006 12:38 pm

Has anyone put a wired Gigabit 10/100/1000 Network Interface Card into a Thinkpad 600x (speed-step)?

I run Windows XP-Pro and and looking for a recomendation for a faster wired network card that is known to work.

I've used several without any problems, presently using a Linksys card in my one running 600X.

The PC slot on the 600X is very adaptable, I've rarely had problems with PC cards.

So, how do you deal with the RJ-45 cabling?

Hi, Bill, I've actually asked this earlier, and got nowhere. The care I have (I'll have to look it up) has two connectors. One will accept the orgininal cable/pigtail that hooks up the modem---it's a combo card.

The other connector has several (I think 13 or 16?) connections and must SOMEHOW be wired to an RJ-45, which is not "on" the 600X anywhere.

So the question is, how do you deal with that?
