Bluetooth question re: Thinkpad R50p and Z60 BT module

I'd like to upgrade the internal Bluetooth in my R50p from BT 1.1 to BT 1.2 at the least, or 2.0 if possible. My question is, does anyone know whether the Bluetooth 2.0 module from the Thinkpad Z60 could be stuck into the R50p? I realize that I would lose my modem, since the BT module in the R50p also handles the 56k, but that would be a minor trade-off. I know that they're both CDC cards, so the interface should be the same. My main concern is actual compatibility, and whether it's been tested by anyone.
