Recovery CD's Ive Made A Blunder.....

#1 Post by rscosworth » Mon May 22, 2006 3:16 am

Guys,

Was in work the other day and took backups of recovery CD's for R50e (1834) and T42 (2373)

The only software i have on the thinkpad at work is the IBM Record Now - as i didnt have any spare cd's i thought i would create them as images...

I have done this, but when i transfer these back onto CD they are not bootable.

Anyone got any ideas? - really need to have them working as ive got two machines to reload.

Cheers

IIRC, I have made working copies of Windows CD's in the past by just doing a data CD copy. Nothing fancy.

I have not tried this lately, or with the Product Recovery Disc set. Also, I have not used RecordNow! much. I used other software when I made those copies - I believe it was Nero Burning ROM.

Did you create them as ISO images (which requires an explict choice when saving the file), or as a Sonic "Global Image"?

Cheers,

Bill
