R31 & R32 14" LCD Interchangiblity

I have two R-series Thinkpads (R31 and R32) that need to have their LCD screens replaced. I've checked the Hardware Maintenance Manuals for them, and noticed that there are several manufacturers of the 14" screen. Are they interchangable, or do I have to replace a Samsung LCD with another Samsung LCD?

typically (TYPICALLY, but not always) in the past the parts that were from different makers were all made to fit the in the same place..
i.e. plugs and screw holes and electrical charistics were all the same..

if you study the HMM it should clearly state those parts that are machine specific..
