SGXA, UXGA.. benefits and screen quality info pls.

#1 Post by moghul » Fri May 26, 2006 8:25 am

Hi

Until recently, I have been looking at the T60 series which can support 1600x1200 resolution, primarily because I use 2080*something on my main PC

However, looking at recent threads, It seems SXGA is better then UXGA. Can someone (preferably who has both varities) clarify the differences in terms of technical jargon, as well as crispness/viewing angle and clarity in daylight etc.

After reading the posts, I am considering going with SXGA 1400x1050 instead of the higher resolution.

I would prefer crispness and viewing angle quality over the higher resolution

Any pointers?

Both the SXGA+ and UXGA 15" displays use the same type of IPS "Flexwiew" display and both are simply stunning.

The 14.1" SXGA+ display is decidedly dimmer and has less sharpness and clarity when compared to the Flexview displays, but when compared to similar 14.1" displays is excellent.

The Flexview displays have the widest viewing angle.
