screen goes black

#1 Post by sanru » Fri May 26, 2006 4:15 pm

Once in a while the screen on my Z60t goes totally black and I can only get it back on by powering the laptop off and then on.

This happens while it is plugged in or not....and all my power save settings have been turned off.

Happens around once a week without warning....even if it sits idle for five minutes.

Annoying and frustrating!

Any ideas how to correct it?

There are some issues with old versions of the video driver (Intel). From the driver changelog at IBM support:

Version 6.14.10.4466a
* (Fix) Sometimes the LCD display turns blank during Windows operations.

Version 6.14.10.4466
* (Fix) Sometimes LCD display turns to blank after start the Windows.

That's great advice....I'll try it!
