I cloned my XP hard drive using Copywipe. Seems OK, I can boot the clone from the primary SATA slot on my T60p or from the Ultrabay caddy.
So, if I boot as usual from the original disk in the primary SATA slot, then add the clone to the system by loading it into the Ultrabay, XP detects the clone and adds it mounted usually as D:. Great.
However, when I boot the clone from the primary SATA, and then insert the original disk into the system via the Ultrabay, XP does not pick up the original disk and assign it a drive letter.
Similarly, if I boot the clone from the Ultrabay, initially with the original disk removed from the primary SATA slot (why? that's another problem) then when I insert the original disk into the primary SATA slot XP does not pick up the disk and assign it a drive letter.
Anyone any idea what's going on? It's the asymmetry in the first two examples I find puzzling.
