This looks like a very nice upgrade from the R5x. I think that the R60 may be a good choice for those who do not need the sturdiness of the T60, but still want the great keyboard and TrackPoint.

The great thing is that the R60 also has a roll cage similar to that in the T60 and Z6x.

Interesting that the IPS screens are not available on this model and frankly I love those screens, particularly after having spend years of doing 14+ hours / 7 days a week on them.

I would love to have the Ultrabay instead of the slim one (and use my Ultrabay stuff) but not having the IPS is making it a definite no-no for me.

Yep, the lack of IPS displays is maior loss of R series. I hope Lenovo will re-think it in the future :)
