Bios update! High pitch noise problem has been solved.

Version 7BET46WW (1.06)

* (Fix) Acoustic noise may be heard when a USB1.1 device is connected to the system in battery mode. (BIOS)
* (Fix) The suspend beep volume does not coincide with a sound volume set by user. (BIOS)
* (Fix) 1400 x 1050 pixels can be selected as a screen resolution by Display property or an application softtware. (BIOS)

Does that mean 1400 x 1050 will be available on the X60's display or is this strictly for external?

I can confirm that. The high pitch noise disappeared.

but i'm just wondering why on official list of patches and drivers there is still the 1.05 version. and bluegene, how did you managed to find this new version?... anyway the notebook is silent :)

go to lenovo home page -> support & downloads -> Downloads and drivers -> select your thinkpad family and types -> continue

and you wiil see the "BIOS Update Utility - ThinkPad X60, X60s"

the date is 2006-05-26

1.06 has really solved the problem
