The mPCIe (do I have that right?) slots where the wireless and WWAN cards plug in don't appear to be interchangable. I moved my wireless card from the normal position to the WWAN slot but the system didn't see it there. At first the BIOS was set to hide the WWAN card and I thought that perhaps this disables the port so I changed the setting to enable the WWAN card but that didn't help.
It looks like the BIOS will only allow certain cards to operate out of that bus slot. That'a s bummer.
