Problem with USB

#1 Post by NS » Mon May 29, 2006 1:55 am

All USB ports on the docking station just stop working sometimes after moving it or disconnecting it, but not always.

The problem is on a handful of laptops including T30's, 40's, 41's.
I checked device manager and all seems well there. Sometimes pluging the mouse or keyboard in the usb's on the laptop itself will work but this is not a satifactory solution.

I've gone to IBM's website and looked at any BIOS updates but none mention fixing any usb issues.
I've done Windows updates on the machine.

ThinkPad and docking station

#4 Post by jackcio » Wed Jun 07, 2006 2:45 pm

I have the same problem, X-60 ThinkPad and X6 Ultrabase. USB ports work when they feel like it. If I do not remove the Laptop from the base and boot, they will start working again. Reseating the laptop in the base seems to have no effect but rebooting does. I returned the original X-60 and X6 base, received replacements and have the exact same results. Anyone have an idea?
