Extra harddrive for ultrabay slim

I wish to add an extra harddrive to my T60p using this Ultrabay Slim SATA adapter:

Is this the right choice for the purpose? There is also another adapter (which seems to be PATA):

Of course I also need a harddrive for the adapter. I'm thinking of getting a 100 GB Hitachi or seagate SATA disc. Will this cause any problems?
