Refurbished T40

Hi I've just disovered this great forum and would like to ask for some advice

I've just sold my aged Acer Travelmate 550 P3 1GHz
The Acer did all I wanted but I would like internal Wireless and a laptop from a company that can supply spares & reply to Emails!!!!!
The LCD was made by Ibm 1400 x 1050 - great screen
enough of its praises!

I've seen some refurbished T40s from a reputable dealer
they have only the XGA LCD - I think I can live with the screen low res for the time being and upgrade when i find an SXGA panel at a reasonable cost.

I really love the look of the T40 and I'm sure its everything I'll need, however my only reservation is the reliability issues I've seen posted, is this just because there are so many T40s around or will I have a higher chance of failure with this model than other models

My main use will be for marine navigation, internet with occasional music production

On the boat the laptop will be in a safe, dry cabin on a solid fixed base (not a speed boat)

I would be very gratefull of your opinions on my choice (I do need reliability foremost)
