760XD RAM upgrade questions

#1 Post by wpwood3 » Tue May 30, 2006 12:12 pm

I want to upgrade the RAM in my 760XD.

My understanding is that the maximum RAM I can install is one 64mb stick and one 32mb stick for a total of 104mb. Half of the 16mb onboard RAM is disabled when I flip the little switch to the left to allow use of the 64mb stick. I also understand that the 64mb stick will only work on socket# 1 which is the one on the right.

Before I buy any RAM I want to make sure I am looking for the right thing. After the difficulty I had with my 600 I am a little gun shy! My understanding is that I need 144 pin EDO SODIMMS. Is there anything else critical? I see several 64mb & 32mb 144pin EDO SODIMMS on eBay. Will any of them work in my 760XD?
